Crop residue management for cereals on a 0.5° global grid on an annual time-scale (1997- 2021). The dataset is based on a collection of existing data sources including livestock, numbers and diets, biomass burning, and residue production ratios. For each grid cell, we estimate the total production residue from cereal crops and determine 1) residues for livestock feed and bedding, 2) residues burned on the field 3) residues used for other off-field purposes and 4) residues left on the field.
